The confidence to travel, work, and socialize is frequently poorly addressed and few programs have been developed specifically to address this gap.
1Touch is based in its integration of physical activity which is inextricably entwined with the concept of self-defense and self-development. Instructors use 1Touch as a means to enhance the underlying principles of independence and the confidence to engage the world in everyday activity.

Addressing all areas of the ECC can be tricky for students with visual and multiple impairment and/or deafblindness. Texas law requires that the ECC be addressed for ALL students with a visual impairment. Come learn about tools for assessing and monitoring progress for these students, and hear about the ways in which REAL LIFE: Region 10 ECC Planning Committee has created unique opportunities for these students.
